I had the phantastic opportunity to enjoy spring in Leonberg.
You wouldn’t believe how many different flowers there are - this is an apple tree.
My favourite nut in the making: male flowers of the walnut.
Many thanks to J.K. for suggesting to photograph blossoms from below.
The meadows switched colour from green to yellow, and then from yellow to white, both overnight.
Brown hares are frequent visitors to our private gardens.
Even where little was growing, interesting patterns could be seen.
We met two members of NABU checking toad fences. Here is what they found: several alpine newts.
The ermine moth (German: Gespinstmotte), not to be mixed up with the oak processionary.
Hanging out with my inner child.
Morning mist in the gardens.
The barley is glistening with dew.
Thermals above a ploughed field (German: Ablösung), made visible by water vapour.
Still-life with fly.
Looking down from my favourite tree.
Throwing hay...
...and enjoying myself, life, and everything else. Thanks to A.J. for taking the pictures.
Water droplets on clover.
Poppy.
Cornflower.
Poppies and cornflowers - strangely, these only grow near the main road and not next to the cornfields. I wonder what the agriculturists spray on their fields?
Grey herons looking for mice.
Stratification in wood chips.
The ever-present high-voltage lines make this close-up photo of a blossom with a bee even more interesting.
This is what the world looks like through the looking-grass.
And if you do not fancy looking far, enjoy the little things close by.
A red kite searching for food.
Common kestrels are also very... common...
... and successful in catching dinner.
